Hi that”s a wonderful ideal I am interested in rasing perch in my pond and poll barn up north do you think it can be done?
Hi Anthony,
Thanks for your feedback! I’m not as familiar with perch, but I think if you have proper tanks, filters, pumps, and water quality control in your barn, it would be possible.
Best of luck,
Lizzie
I stumbled across your research while looking for stories to write about as Detroit Science News Examiner. I ended up including it in a blog entry about the history of raising shrimp in Detroit.

I heard about your project from the UM Sustainability Newsletter the other day. I think it’s AWESOME, and I look forward to watching it unfold!
I love shrimp and I used to always have a bag or two in my freezer. With all the talk about contaminated water and noticing that all the shrimp in the stores comes from very poor countries, I stopped buying it. I hope you’re successful and it grows into a big business. It’d be wonderful to be able to buy safe seafood.
